Job Description

The Research Support Officer (RSO) is responsible for providing high-level research administration and advisory support to Group researchers and support staff and providing operational support for activities that enhance the research environment and organisational performance.

As a valuable member of the Group Research Services Team, the RSO role provides a shared resource to support the research work across the Group. Under broad direction, a RSO may be assigned to support research at a Group level, School level or a Research Entity. 

This position formally reports to the Manager, Group Research Services however, the position may sit amongst the Group’s School or Research Entities who direct the day-to-day priorities and work of the RSO. 

There are three positions available. One to provide support for the Griffith Centre for Mental Health and two positions to provide support at a Group level.  Applicants can indicate their preferred position highlighting their interest and experience.

About you
The occupant of this position will hold relevant qualifications, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge and experience and/or education/training. 

In additional to the above, you will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels and with evidence of managing complex issues.
  • Highly developed organisational, analytical and multitasking abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and work in a fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and collaborative decision making to achieve deadlines.

Experience in research administration is desirable but not essential.

What we can offer
These are three full-time, fixed-term positions (12 months) with the possibility of extension, primarily based at Griffith University Gold Coast.  As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other locations.

Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 6 range $91,843 - $97,964 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $107,456 - $114,618 per annum.
