HR Advisor

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an HR Advisor, you will play an important role in supporting our people and line managers covering the entire employee life cycle.

The role will include managing employee relations cases, absences, wellbeing, performance management, flexible working requests and guiding managers on people related matters.

Additionally, the role will expect you to support the HR team delivering HR projects that contribute to our people strategy and being an advocate of our employee values.

WHAT MATTERS MOST IN THIS ROLE

Your ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is essential in this role. The delivery of clear and accurate HR advice is paramount.

Partnering with Line Managers, you will advise on all employee relations matters, such as performance management, grievance and disciplinary issues and long-term sickness absence including occupational health referrals and GIP referrals. Offering commercially savvy HR advice matters in this role and being able to guide Line Managers effectively to help with their people matters.

In addition, you will should be experienced with managing the redundancy process including leading consultations and completing all associated administration. Experience of TUPE would be an advantage, but not essential for the role.

In this role you will also work closely with the Head of HR to review and update existing polices and help create new ones in line with changing legislation and best practice.

Other duties will include:

  • Manage HR/ER cases end-to-end and support managers to conduct investigations and check investigation reports, invite/outcome letters, with the help of an HR Administrator.
  • Manage flexible working requests end-to-end, including the coordination of formal meetings and drafting outcome letters.
  • Assist in developing and delivering Line Manager training on HR matters, including disciplinary and grievance, conducting effective appraisals, probation and staff wellbeing/welfare.
  • Support with the annual salary review, promotions and bonus processes as required.
  • Keep fully up to date with all developments in terms of employment legislation and employee relations issues.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of the HR Administrators.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

  • A proactive, practical, and positive approach to work is required.
  • Excellent and professional communication skills with the ability to build gravitas amongst stakeholders is paramount.
  • Comfortable to work autonomously with a flexible and collaborative culture.
  • CIPD qualified to level 5 or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Working practice of Cascade or a similar HRIS.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
  • Commercial acumen
