School Security Officers must possess a security license from the state.
Additionally, we require the following for SSOs:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our Security Officers protect schools in the district against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties:
• First responder to any and all events that occur on campus property.
• Patrol the assigned campus both inside the buildings and the perimeter.
• Be highly visible on campus with a focus on before and after school and at lunch.
• Maintain external security of the buildings.
• Make recommendations to correct identified security issues on campus.
• Observe arrival and departure of students.
• Ensure that no unauthorized individuals gain access to the campus.
• Work with the staff to intervene in situations that can cause disruptions of the learning environment.
• Monitors video surveillance at the school.
• Becomes a part of the school threat assessment team.
• Develops and fosters communication with the patrolling law enforcement agency that serves their school.
• Communicates regularly with the site administration as well as the direct supervisor.
• Completes other assigned duties.
Requirements:
• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Ability to pass criminal background check and drug test
• Law Enforcement or Military Police 5 years
• Reliable phone & transportation
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Good work history
• Proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful resident status
• Valid driver's license
• Supporting I-9 documents
