Pay: $17–$20/hr (DOE) + Tips

Too Sweet Cakes is looking for a Part-Time Cakes Assistant to support our cake team in creating beautiful, delicious, high-quality cakes. This role involves assisting with cake production and decoration, prepping ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and jumping in wherever needed to keep the cake department running smoothly.

This is a great opportunity for someone with cake or pastry experience who’s looking to grow their skills in a fun, fast-paced bakery environment!

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with cake production, baking, filling, stacking, and crumb-coating.
• Support decorators with prep work and basic decorating tasks (e.g., piping, fondant, buttercream work).
• Follow Too Sweet Cakes’ recipes and quality standards with care and consistency.
• Prepare ingredients and materials ahead of production (mise en place).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cake area, following sanitation guidelines.
• Wash dishes, clean surfaces, and help reset the kitchen at the end of shifts.
• Keep an eye on ingredient levels and notify the manager of low stock.
• Help package and label cakes for delivery or pickup.
• Occasionally assist with deliveries or customer pickups as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the team, maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.

• 1+ year of experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry (preferred, but willing to train the right fit).
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• OHA Food Handler’s Certificate (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Punctual, reliable, and a strong communicator.
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Passion for cake, creativity, and the desire to be part of a supportive team.
