Therapy Technician - Astoria

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Therapy Technician assists therapists in providing non-medical support to patients. They assist patients in moving throughout the clinic, accompany the patient through exercises, perform administrative duties and prepare treatment equipment and rooms.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

· Engage with patients to ensure they are having a 5 Star guest experience.

· Greeting patients as they enter the facility and practice Spear’s 5 foot rule of customer service.

· Escort patients from waiting area to treatment area to be seen by their therapist.

· Help patients move throughout the clinic, room to room, or to specific equipment.

· Accompany the patient through their exercises.

· Assist the patient by getting them anything to support their experience, towel, water, temperature control, etc.

· Prepare modalities for therapists, such as ice packs, or heat pads.

· Knowledgeable in Spear services and locations to be able to be able to engage in conversations and respond to patients’ basic questions.


· Handle necessary paperwork, such as: faxing clinical notes, maintaining POC logs, filling out insurance forms.

· Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments and ordering supplies.


· Clean and prepare treatment areas and equipment for and after each session.

· Change and wash linens and arrange supplies.


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; BA Degree preferred.

  • Attention to detail, good computer skills.
  • Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.


$16 - $16 an hour
