Position Overview:
As a Supply Chain Intern at ModelZ, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our supply chain team to assist in the optimization of procurement, inventory management, production scheduling, and logistics. This role offers exposure to a range of supply chain functions in a start-up environment, providing invaluable insight into the complexities of a growing manufacturing operation.

Our mission is to provide high-quality, low-cost, and net-zero-ready housing solutions that are both scalable and practical, aiming to significantly mitigate homelessness and enhance living conditions for underrepresented communities. As a majority Black-owned and operated business based in Southern California, Model-Z is poised to establish the first standardized modular housing factory in the region.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Inventory Management: Assist in tracking and managing inventory levels to ensure adequate stock for production needs
- Procurement Support: Help in sourcing materials and components, supporting vendor communications, and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
- Order Processing: Assist in processing orders, ensuring that orders are fulfilled on time, and coordinating shipments.
- Data Analysis: Analyze supply chain data, identify trends, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Production Scheduling: Support the team in creating and updating production schedules to meet delivery deadlines and manage resources efficiently.
- Logistics Coordination: Assist with coordinating inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely delivery of materials and finished products, without disruption to material flow.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with team members to identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks in the supply chain and suggest process improvements.
- Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Previous internship or coursework related to supply chain management, logistics, or manufacturing preferred.
- Undergraduate or graduate student currently obtaining degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; excellent follow through
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Ability to collaborate with others and utilize knowledge and resources to identify quality solutions
- Well-developed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
