Company Description

As a Group Business Controller, you will report directly to the CFO and engage with individuals at all levels of the organization, including the shareholder. The Sienna Real Estate Group consists of 6 operating units worldwide (Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, UK and South-Korea) and several holding companies. This position will make you the bridge between all these entities and the group management/shareholder, interacting with both the Group Executive Board and local Management.

You will support the CFO with all budget-related activities and take on the responsibility of monitoring and analyzing the financial performance and cash management of the Sienna Real Estate Group. Your role will include budgeting, reforecasting, and engaging in various projects to enhance the finance function and fostering business development. You will stay informed about all business activities and translate this into valuable information for the company. Additionally, you will collaborate with Group and Local management to make informed decisions and strategize effectively, continuously seeking ways to improve processes and collaboration.

ROLE

Key responsibilities:

  1. Business performance, Budgeting and Cash management:
  • Assist the CFO in executing the annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting processes for the Group, while contributing to the development and maintenance of long-term business plans and financial models
  • Perform monthly and quarterly evaluations of the operating and financial performance of the various business units within Sienna Real Estate Group
  • Control that business unit (BU) managers and cost-center owners operate within approved budgets
  • Monitor SRE Group's cash liquidity on a monthly basis, overseeing and controlling the accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Monitor Assets Under Management (AUM) and Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) metrics
  • Support the implementation of a robust budgeting framework to ensure clarity and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Participate and coordinate into enhancing the process of internal controls, business improvements, and finance-related guidelines across all Finance teams (both local and holding entities)
  • Connect Finance with other departments to enhance collaboration and improve efficiency
  1. Reporting
  • Collaborate with the Group Accounting Officer to prepare a monthly and quarterly Controlling Pack, ensuring it aligns with the Consolidation Pack in accordance with IFRS standards
  • Work alongside the Group Accounting Officer to prepare quarterly cash management plans and forecasts for the Group, as well as prepare reports for top management and shareholders
  • Prepare and submit regular updates, reports, and ad-hoc analyses for top Management, shareholders, and the Supervisory Board

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS                           

  • Approximately 5-7 years of experience in financial controlling, gained from Big 4 auditing firms or a similar role as a business controller in the real estate sector
    Experience in commercial real estate would be considered as a plus
  • Advanced Excel modelling expertise, PowerPoint and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously, taking full ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Strong analytical skills, showing a high-level of professional skepticism and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong ability to think independently, prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines
  • Possess an intense work ethic and competitive spirit, and be able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Positive “can-do” attitude and team-work essential. Integrity a must; humility a plus
  • Appetite for continuous improvement and technology, with expertise in advanced database and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms considered a plus
  • Open to occasional travel
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • 40-hour workweek
