Siena is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team, primarily responsible for supporting the Records and Research group.

Project Engineer, Records Qualifications and Skills

• Associate’s degree or equivalent; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
• 0 – 3 years’ prior related experience; experience in telecommunications preferred
• Possess the ability to learn new programs and industry jargon
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with vendors, clients, employees, and management
• Ability to work well independently or within a group
• Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel knowledge
• GIS and AutoCAD experience preferred
• Access to a vehicle including maintaining a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Availability for on-call duties for one week, each month and at any time of day or night
• During emergencies, must have the ability to work overtime when necessary

Project Engineer, Records Job Responsibilities

• Provide conceptual route design for new network projects
• Research records and compile data to support upcoming projects
• Prepare existing overview maps for new cable overbuilds
• Provide field assistance to resolve issues as they are encountered in the field
• Support other contractors with information as needed during project implementation
• Prepare splice matrixes as needed
• Ensure all outside plant (OSP) activities are reconciled for closeout construction
• Reconcile and update records and databases with final "as-built” as appropriate
• Conduct on-site network inventory
• Upload final engineering documents and packages into Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• Prepare and publish PowerPoint drawings and presentations
• Coordinate OSP activities with personnel and track changes and work schedules
• Provide back-up support as needed to Project Administrator as well as for the national report of upcoming projects
• Responsible for on-call duties for one week, each month; expected to be available at any time of day or night, usually with short notice, to carry out tasks
