Medical Administration Specialist On Call/Casual

We are looking for an individual who performs a variety of administrative duties to support staff in the Clinic. If you enjoy partnering with people and are excited about the opportunity to make a difference every day, then this might be for you!  
What You Will Do: 
  • Schedules appointments, obtains lab reports, and assists coordinating transportation.
  • Provides secretarial support including word processing, typing, filing, mail, phone calls, pulling charts, referrals.
  • Coordinates hospital admissions including documentation.
  • Maintains records, files, forms and reports. 
  • Establishes and maintains computerized medical records, databases, spreadsheets, and tickler files.
  • Orders standard office equipment as authorized by Clinic Nurse Manager.
  • Calls in pharmacy refills after authorization by RN.
  • Maintains physician’s schedule book.
  • Acts as a receptionist to persons entering clinic and assists with inquiries.
  • Performs other work as assigned.
Who You Are:
  • Familiarity with the office practices in a medical setting as would normally be obtained through a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a medical secretary.
  • You enjoy working with people and have interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills, familiarity with medical terminology, procedures and 
    environment.
  • English grammar, spelling, punctuation and writing skills.
  • Tact and diplomacy when dealing with staff and residents.
  • Thorough knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
  • Computer skills including Windows 95.
  • Physical skills and ability to perform work that requires continual standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
