Our Art Team

At Second Dinner, the art team drives the visual direction of our games and creates a cohesive and consistent experience. We strive to create the highest quality art and we’re always looking for ways to raise the bar! It’s our job as Game Artisans to create, refine, iterate, and help make our games look amazing! We partner with every part of the studio: design, engineering, production, data, product management, marketing, and sound, to make the most fun and visually engaging experiences possible for our players!

Your Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented, motivated Senior Art Outsourcing Supervisor to drive outsource content for Marvel Snap! This role will report to the Senior Art Director and partner closely with the internal development team of engineers, designers, technical artists to build out our in-game content. You will be responsible for overseeing the management and coordination of art outsourcing activities, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality assets that meet our artistic and technical standards. Your experience in game development and developing and managing an artist pipeline will help you work effectively across the team. If you have incredible organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of art and design principles, and above all are passionate about providing quality gaming experiences for players, we want to hear from you! 

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the end-to-end art outsourcing process, including sourcing, contract/pricing negotiations, budgeting, onboarding, and maintaining communication with external art studios and individual artists

  • Manage communications and provide feedback to artists and help maintain a strong creative relationship between external and internal art teams

  • Generate detailed documentation, visual reference, and examples of art asset production, procedures, and requirements to support the external vendors

  • Own the quality control over all incoming art assets, providing detailed feedback and approvals in order to deliver quality assets to the development team

  • Work closely with the art director and production team to determine outsourcing needs, pipelines, budgets and costs for art assets

  • Coordinate with external vendors to schedule and track incoming assets

  • Create new art pipelines from scratch as well identify, onboard, and manage new artists, including:

    • Sharing of requirements

    • Determining what pieces artists should work on

    • Discovering new art styles

    • Negotiating contracts

    • Providing feedback

    • File management

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience as an Art Outsource Manager or a similar role within the gaming or entertainment industries.

  • Clear and concise communications, leadership, and people skills.

  • In-depth understanding of the game development process and the ability to align art outsourcing activities with internal project milestones and deadlines.

  • Ability to manage multiple art pipelines across multiple delivery dates

  • A creative eye for detail and a deep appreciation for visual aesthetics, ensuring the delivery of assets that align with our artistic vision.

  • Understanding of the visual style of card games and a passion to push it to the next level.

  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically to address potential challenges and optimize the outsourcing process.

  • Highly organized, self-driven, and a great team player.

  • Knowledge of Marvel to help create content that the community will love

Nice to Have, But Not Necessary:

  • Experience in an art director or lead artist role

  • Past experience creating AAA assets in a production environment for multiple platforms

  • Understanding of Unity

  • Experience working on card games

  • Experience working on live service games

  • Experience working on mobile games

  • Programming experience

  • Photoshop and Illustrator experience

The total compensation for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $120,000 to $160,000 USD + equity + comprehensive benefits + potential for discretionary performance bonuses.

Individual pay within this salary range may span multiple levels within the discipline and is determined by assessed job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training. It also factors in market demands and business needs. The disclosed range is not adjusted based on location and may be subject to change or modification based on business needs in the future. Your recruiter can answer any questions about new hire total compensation during the hiring process.
