Overview 

We are seeking a dynamic, self-starting Business Intelligence Project Manager to lead data-centric initiatives in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on organizing chaos, collaborating across functions, and driving clarity for both technical and executive stakeholders. Candidates MUST be located in the Stamford, CT area and be willing to go into the office 4-5 days per week. Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

 

Responsibilities & Duties 

  • Lead and manage BI and data-related projects from initiation through execution and delivery.
  • Interface directly with executive leadership, translating project progress and technical complexities into clear, actionable insights.
  • Organize and drive development using Agile methodologies (primarily Kanban), while maintaining the ability to report in traditional Waterfall formats.
  • Act as a central liaison between business users, development teams, and data stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery.
  • Establish structure and process in a lean, start-up-like setting without over-engineering.
  • Manage JIRA boards, sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Deliver clear, concise, executive-level status reports, project plans, and risk management assessments.

Desired Skills and Qualifications 

  

  • Minimum of 4 – 7 years of experience in consulting and/or program management ideally with a focus on operational improvements
  • Strong Project Management experience on data-focused projects (e.g., BI, data warehousing, analytics platforms).
  • Hands-on familiarity with tools and platforms like MicroStrategy, AWS Redshift, or similar (e.g., Tableau, Snowflake, Power BI, Google BigQuery).
  • Ability to speak fluently in PMP concepts and terminology, even if not formally certified.
  • Experience managing projects using both Agile (Kanban preferred) and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Proven success working cross-functionally and aligning stakeholders from technical and executive teams.
  • Comfortable creating structures in environments with minimal process.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

 

Education/Certifications 

·       Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience is required

·       MBA is a plus

 

 Compensation

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Sand Cherry Associates is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensational decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This is a long-term consulting engagement, with an hourly range of $60-$70. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role.
