The producer will create and post social content across several ABC News brand accounts, including ABC News, ABC News Live, Good Morning America and more.This candidate will collaborate with the digital and broadcast teams to optimize both linear content and original digital content across all social media platforms. The candidate should be comfortable working quickly and efficiently across the entire Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. The role requires editing videos using Adobe Premiere, creating graphics using Canva and Photoshop and writing captions for all social platforms using SEO best practices.The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating impeccable judgment and social acumen, especially pertaining to breaking news on social media. They should have experience producing and distributing content during breaking news situations. They should be comfortable working with talent as needed.The role requires knowledge of the competitive landscape for news on social. The producer should be well versed in how to leverage social analytics to make data-driven decisions in both production and publishing strategies. This candidate must have a demonstrated track record of editorial excellence.The candidate must be willing to work weekends and nights. The hours are generally 12- 9pm ET Tuesdays – Fridays and Saturdays 9am- 5pm ET, although those hours may occasionally shift based on staffing needs.Responsibilities:Responsible for guiding the voice of ABC News and its various shows on social mediaProduce engaging content, including graphics and video, for social platformsAssist in development and implementation of a social media strategy to drive revenue, referral traffic, brand awareness, followers, engagement, and conversion to linear and streaming platforms across all social armsIdentify new social opportunities while partnering with producers across brandsBasic Qualifications:Minimum four years of experience managing social media accounts for a news organizationBe an experienced multimedia, cross-platform producerBe able to work to tight deadlines and under pressureClear and effective written and verbal communication skillsAdherence to the highest standards of journalismPreferred Qualifications:Experience working closely with high-profile talentExperience growing a social following for a news brand account on TikTokExperience using social publishing tools like DashHudson, SocialFlow or SproutExperience transforming linear news content into social-friendly contentRequired Education:Bachelor’s DegreePreferred Education:Bachelor’s degree in journalism or political science or related fieldThe hiring range for this position in New York is $82,000 to $109,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
