Sodium Fire Analysis Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Sodium Fire Analysis Engineer for a remote contract position.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop analytical models for sodium chemical reactions and aerosol generation
• Perform software quality assurance activities and support the development of sodium fire protection programs
• Conduct technical work for regulatory submittals and maintain documentation of model development and analysis results

Required Qualifications and Skills

• M.S. or Ph.D. in nuclear engineering or a relevant engineering degree with at least 3 years of experience in the nuclear field
• In-depth knowledge of sodium chemical reactions and nuclear systems thermal-hydraulic
• Experience with sodium fire analysis using computer codes such as CONTAIN-LMR or MELCOR is desired
• Familiarity with nuclear design, regulatory requirements, and risk-informed performance-based technology guidance for Non-Light Water Reactors
• Experience in working in multi-disciplinary engineering teams is essential
