Remote Bookkeeper / Accountant

VirtueStaff is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Remote Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our dedicated financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. The ideal candidate possesses a solid understanding of accounting principles and has a proven track record in bookkeeping or accounting, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

Responsibilities
• Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial transactions
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Communicate financial information to management and stakeholders clearly
• Utilize accounting software for data entry and financial reporting
• Support audits by providing required documentation and information
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accountant, or similar role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory
