Responsibilities*
Provide conscious sedation; short-term care and treatment for critically ill patients during intra-hospital transport for diagnostic tests and procedures and during on-unit procedures or emergencies.

Required Qualifications*
Current Michigan RN licensure
Minimum of four (4) years RN experience, and must include two (2) of the following: Adult critical care RN, Pediatric critical care RN, Adult or Pediatric ED RN experience in a regional referral center/Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center.
At least one (1) of the three (3) certifications are required at time of hire; ACLS, PALS or NRP. The remaining two (2) certifications will need to be obtained within six (6) months of hire into SWAT.
RN experience with independent decision making by working with a wide variety of patients, to include but not limited to; hemodynamically unstable patients, critically ill neonates, pediatrics and adult patients, airway or respiratory compromised patients, wound care, trauma or multi-system organ failure patients.
NOTE: In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

Critical Care Transport in air-medical or MICU RN experience *preference will be given to candidates with this experience

Resume and RN experience demonstrating the following: Effective problem solving skills (ie: ED Triage, prioritizing complex patient care), Leadership skills (charge nurse role or preceptor experience), professional responsibility and accountability, committee/unit involvement.
Specialty RN Certification (CEN, CCRN, CFRN).

Hours: 36 hours per week (0.9)
Shift: Evening shift, 10a-10p, 12 hour shifts
Note: Orientation will include all of SWAT scheduled shifts.
All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

Additional Information
The D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is a 12-story hospital that will house 264 private rooms capable of converting to intensive care; a state-of-the-art neurosciences center. High-level, specialty care services for cardiovascular and thoracic patients will also be housed, along with advanced imaging. The 690,000 square foot hospital which also features twenty surgical and three interventional radiology suites is being constructed adjacent to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, with plans for bridge and tunnel connections to existing inpatient care facilities. The anticipated opening of the new D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is Fall 2025.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
