Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder (Cert) to handle medical coding responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Code inpatient, outpatient, short stay surgery, emergency room, and diagnostic/therapeutic medical records according to ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 guidelines
  • Assign codes to all diagnostic and procedural statements in patient medical records
  • Ensure accurate and optimal DRG assignment based on coding
Required Qualifications
  • One year of inpatient/outpatient coding experience in an acute care facility
  • Computer and encoder skills are preferred
  • RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification is required
  • Must demonstrate coding proficiency through a coding test
