Ohio Licensed Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Coder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review medical record documentation and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT IV codes
  • Abstract required data per facility specifications and perform medical necessity checks for payers
  • Monitor accounts for timely processing of outpatient claims and maintain established productivity and quality standards
Required Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical Degree in Health Information Management or Coding Certification
  • Completion of Coding Curriculum with one year of previous coding experience
  • Required certifications include RHIA, RHIT, CCA; must obtain COC or CCS within one year of hire
  • Satisfactory completion of Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology
  • Previous use of Coding Software Tools and knowledge of electronic medical records
