Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Quality Officer III - (Medicare).

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and integrity of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and DRG assignment for inpatient Medicare encounters
• Critically analyze Medicare inpatient medical records to apply appropriate coding and DRG judgments
• Educate and coach coders on coding principles and maintain an excellent organizational average accuracy rate

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 5+ years of acute care coding/auditing experience required with a degree, or 9+ years without
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding, medical terminology, and clinical indicators
• Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing and coding regulations
• CCS certification required; ICD-10-CM/PCS proficiency required
• Preferred certifications include CPC-H, RHIT, RHIA, and/or RN
