Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mainframe Engineer to support a major modernization effort focused on decoupling a large-scale legacy DB2 database and refactoring associated COBOL programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the decoupling of legacy DB2 databases and refactor COBOL programs to enhance functionality
• Transition data access patterns to new architectural components while maintaining business-critical operations
• Collaborate with internal teams for onboarding and ongoing support throughout the modernization project

Required Qualifications

• Strong command of COBOL programming, including reading, modifying, and testing
• Experience with JCL for job execution and batch processing in mainframe environments
• Familiarity with IBM MQ for message queue integration
• Deep understanding of DB2 access methods on mainframes
• Experience with API specifications and data mapping to source/target structures
