Job Summary

A company is looking for a Clinical Documentation Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of clinical documentation through extensive record reviews and interactions with healthcare providers
  • Educate and communicate with physicians and healthcare team members regarding clinical documentation standards and practices
  • Conduct concurrent reviews of patient health records and collaborate with coding staff to resolve discrepancies and ensure comprehensive documentation
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
  • Associate/Diploma Degree in Nursing or Health Information Technology, or an advanced nursing degree, or 3+ years of experience as an inpatient coder or clinical documentation specialist
  • Preferred certifications include Registered Nurse License, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCDS, or CDIP
  • Experience in Critical Care, Medical or Surgical Inpatient Care Nursing, or as an inpatient coder is preferred
  • Proficiency in using standard desktop and Windows-based computer systems, including data entry skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating integrity and a commitment to the organization's mission and values
