Interior Book Designer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Junior Designer/Designer, Interiors (Open to remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Support the team by reviewing passes, assisting with title progression, and answering production queries
• Create original designs for various titles across multiple imprints and formats
• Prepare compositor instructions and specifications for reprint corrections and ensure compliance with printer specifications

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year (Junior Designer) or 2 years (Designer) of experience in interior design for trade or academic books
• Portfolio demonstrating understanding of typographical and page layout conventions
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign
• General understanding of prepress and production technology for various printing processes
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
