Job Summary

A company is looking for a Clinical Documentation Specialist RN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews inpatient medical records to identify opportunities for clinical documentation improvement and assigns working DRGs
  • Communicates with providers to clarify documentation that supports severity of illness and risk of mortality
  • Collaborates with coding staff to ensure accurate reflection of patient clinical status in documentation
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program
  • CO State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • 5 years of recent clinical experience in an acute inpatient nursing unit or relevant experience requiring communication with providers
  • Preferred background in critical care and MED/SURG with the ability to assess acute and chronic conditions
  • Experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) is preferred
