Job Summary

A company is looking for a Hospital Coder - Outpatient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures for outpatient medical records using ICD and CPT coding systems
  • Meet productivity and quality standards while adhering to regulatory requirements
  • Work extensively with electronic medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
  • Associate's degree in health information technology; Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred
  • Maintain certification in RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS, or COC with continuing education requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and medical terminology
  • Prior coding classification education and hospital coding experience highly desirable
  • Familiarity with computer and/or encoder software is preferred
