Accurately codes hospital inpatient accounts for reimbursement, research, and compliance with regulations
Analyzes and codes complex inpatient cases using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS systems
Collaborates with senior coders and clinical staff to resolve documentation issues and share coding information
Required Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent; formal ICD-10-CM and CPT training preferred
Minimum of three years of ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS coding experience in a Level 1 Trauma and Rehab hospital
Four years of experience coding inpatient hospital medical records is acceptable
Certification required: CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or CIC
