Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist 2 to provide support in medical coding and billing for various departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, abstract, and code treatment and procedure information from outpatient medical records
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Joint Commission guidelines for medical coding and billing
• Educate providers on coding practices and maintain performance standards for accurate charge submissions

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum two years of experience in reviewing, abstracting, and coding medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT coding
• Coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CCS, RHIA, RHIT)
• Experience in a hospital or professional services setting
• Active AHIMA membership may be required for some positions
