Job description: Position Description / Responsibilities:

The role of the Americas Solutions Design & Implementation Manager is to consult with Meetings & Events business development, operations and account management teams to recommend servicing platforms and solutions that align with clients’ program goals and GBT strategic objectives, participate in discussions to demonstrate GBT’s value and support global and local contracting efforts with new clients. The role will also be responsible for leading client local and global implementations of new and expanding business into American Express Meetings & Events. The scope of this role includes all project types such as local, multi-national as well as global customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Collaborate with M&E Business Development, Account Management and Operations to understand client requirements and drive efforts to define M&E service proposal.
• Identify gaps with local practices and provide pro-active recommendations for solutions. Work cross functionally to drive efficiencies and ensure client needs are fully met and deliver on strategic M&E business unit goals.
• Support head of solution design and implementation team in maintaining Solution Design documentation, stay informed on changes to local processes and capabilities, industry news and innovative solutions.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the best-in-class local and global meetings & events solutions and implementation processes as needed for client conversations or strategic discussions.
• Support the business development team with creation of global and local commercial contract exhibits.
• Responsible for the identification, resolution and/or escalation of roadblocks, global and local, which may delay implementation task completion.
• Ensure comprehensive oversight of the implementation process.
• Execute the implementation plan in accordance with the global and local contract and statement of work (SOW).
• Coordinate the completion of the plan’s tasks and priorities during the implementation.
• Provide administration duties of project management which include: facilitating weekly conference calls, providing meeting agendas and call minutes, updating and distributing implementation plans, following up with task owners to ensure task completion, and providing information to all team members in a timely manner.
• Resolve/escalate bottlenecks which delay task completion.
• Be personally accountable for driving implementation timeline deadlines and meeting client expectations.
• Align with Business Travel Implementation Team when appropriate to ensure a consistent platform for the client.
• Continually review processes to improve overall delivery of implementations.
• Work closely with head of solutions design team.
Hiring Requirements/Qualifications:
• Must have Meetings & Events Industry knowledge with a focus on service delivery/operations/M&E technology.
• Must demonstrate analytical, strategic and conceptual thinking, including ability to scope out project requirements and objectives to develop and execute client solutions and implementation strategies to achieve key deliverables.
• Must have proven project management skills with a focus on global, cross-functional teams.
• Must have excellent written and presentation skills and have the ability to explain complex information to an audience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously while prioritizing deliverables to meet all objectives.
• Possess a detail-orientated approach with ability to identify implementation task requirements to achieve key milestone deliverables.
• Proven ability to identify and evaluate risks and establish contingency plans within a project.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Visio
