Job Summary

A company is looking for a Remote PRN DRG/PCS IP Facility Coder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign appropriate codes to inpatient and outpatient hospital records, ensuring compliance with Federal Regulations and departmental policies
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards and resolve pre-bill edits and denials for assigned accounts
  • Participate in departmental in-services and maintain a minimum accuracy rate of 95% while meeting productivity standards
Required Qualifications
  • Three to five years of coding experience required
  • High school diploma or GED required; inpatient coding experience preferred
  • Must possess one of the following coding certifications: CCS, CCS-P, COC, or RHIT/RHIA
  • Certification must be achieved within one year of hire if not held at the time of hire
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD-9/10 CM, CPT-4, HCPCS, and DRG coding systems
