Job Summary

A company is looking for a Remote Home Health & Hospice Coder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Code inpatient and outpatient hospital records, ED records, and Home Health & Hospice records using ICD-9/10 CM and CPT-4 classification systems
  • Review medical records to assign appropriate codes for financial reimbursement and ensure compliance with federal regulations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and resolve pre-bill edits and denials for assigned accounts
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Three to five years of coding experience required
  • Must possess one of the following coding certifications at the time of hire: AAPC or AHIMA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or RHIT/RHIA
  • Inpatient coding experience preferred
  • Achievement of one of the coding credentials mentioned above within one year of hire
