The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright and flexible Transport Coordinator to join our team in Laverton North on a full-time permanent basis.

To excel in this role, you will need to have good knowledge of the road freight industry and a strong customer service focus.

The Position

• Full-time permanent position
• Monday to Friday 8:30AM – 4:30PM
• Organising & writing consignment notes
• Arranging local, regional and interstate deliveries and run sheets
• Tracking and uploading proof of deliveries
• Recording and reconciling pallet movements
• Monitoring incoming shipping container movements and schedules
• Customer service and data entry
• Releasing forward orders
• Assisting Sales representatives and other staff with queries
• Relief in nominating shipments
• Answering sales/marketing queries and requests
• General administrative and filing duties for the Logistics department

About you

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in transport, logistics or a related field (desirable) with verifiable training in CoR and understanding of Fatigue Management and Load Restraint.  

• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Exceptional time management and communication skills; verbal and written.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing carrier/driver relationships.
• Experienced in liaising with a variety of people including customers, transport/shipping companies and across teams/functions.
• Computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-orientated environment
• Knowledgeable of Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Substances regulatory handling and storage legislation or be willing to undertake training prior to commencement in the role.
