Patient Care Technician ED, FT Days/Evenings

Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for services related to dietary, transportation, materials management and guest relations. Performs a wide variety of patient care and environmental functions on the patient care unit Participates in team activities and quality improvement programs. He/she ensures that quality services are provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit's standards of care. He/she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Graduate
Licensure/Registration/Certification: BLS credentialingWork Experience: Recent experience as a nurse aide, phlebotomist, or EKG technician preferred

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
