Manager, IT Osaka Gas Asset Management (OGAM)

The Manager, IT OGAM will ensure the security and efficiency of Osaka Gas Asset Management’s (OGAM) IT infrastructure by implementing cybersecurity measures, managing risks, and maintaining security controls.  The role also includes leading the launch of OGAM’s domain, migrating resources from the OGUSA domain, and managing accounts, resources, and costs post-launch, with regular reporting to OGAM and OGUSA senior management.  Additionally, the Manager, IT OGAM will oversee OGAM’s IT assets, including updates, disposals, and new acquisitions, and provide reports to OGAM senior management and the Vice President, IT Osaka Gas U.S.A.(OGUSA).

Houston candidates:  Lastly, the Manager, IT OGAM will provide IT helpdesk services to employees at the OGUSA New York office in collaboration with the Houston Helpdesk team.

Essential Job Functions 

  • The Manager, IT OGAM is responsible for ensuring robust IT security measures to safeguard the critical infrastructure of OGAM, understanding and mitigating the cyber risks associated with OGAM assets, and maintaining cybersecurity controls at these assets.
  • Assist Asset Management (AM) in defining a clear cybersecurity roadmap in conjunction with the Cybersecurity consultant for the OGAM assets.
  • Assist AM in building and managing an effective Incident Response and Recovery plan in conjunction with the Cybersecurity consultant. Assist AM in follow-up on a cyber incident(s) according to the response plan.
  • Assist the Cybersecurity consultant in vulnerability assessments and firewall rules assessments and ensure recommended changes are implemented by the Managed Service Provider (MSP) at OGAM assets.
  • Develop a corrective action plan in collaborating with MSP and work with Cybersecurity consultant for cyber incidents.
  • Ensure preventive actions from cybersecurity consultants are promptly implemented by MSP.
  • The Manager, IT OGAM is responsible for managing OGAM projects, including launching a dedicated domain for OGAM and migrating the necessary IT resources from the OGUSA domain in collaboration with the OGUSA IT team. After the OGAM domain is established, the Manager, IT OGAM, will oversee the domain as its administrator, managing accounts, resources, and costs, and providing regular reports to senior management.
  • The Manager, IT OGAM is responsible for managing the IT assets under OGAM's control, performing updates, disposals, or new acquisitions as needed. The IT assets in this context include computers, network equipment, software licenses, and subscriptions.  Inventory lists of Computers, Network devices, Software, and other IT devices that contain confidential business data. Develop and maintain lifecycle replacement plan of network and end-point devices and software packages.
  • The Manager, IT OGAM will provide IT helpdesk services to employees on-site or remotely in any of the OGUSA offices.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (a master’s degree is a plus).

Experience

  •  5-10 years of experience in IT management, with a focus on IT security and infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in domain management, cloud infrastructure, and IT asset management.
  • Experience managing IT helpdesk services and working with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Certifications

  •  CompTIA Security+ or Higher-level certificates
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Microsoft Certified such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Skills and Competencies

  •  Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in server systems, networks, and cybersecurity.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with non-technical staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Typical workday is in an office environment, with normal office temperatures, and noise levels
  • Job may require extended sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and use of standard office equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry computer components up to 50 pounds
  • Travel on a limited basis, estimated 10%
