Nuclear Fuel Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Fuel Performance and Development Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thermo-mechanical analysis of fuel rods and core components to support design and testing activities
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure fuel and absorber designs meet objectives
• Develop fuel and material models and create technical documentation for reactor design and licensing

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in fuel performance modeling or thermo-mechanical analysis
• Strong skills in finite element methods, heat transfer, and behavior of nuclear fuels
• Experience with numerical methods and programming languages such as PYTHON and FORTRAN
• Familiarity with nuclear fuel design methodologies and applicable regulatory requirements
