   Are you an experienced Unix/Linux Operations Specialist looking for an opportunity to work in a global, dynamic, and innovative IT environment? Join our Unix/Linux team in Budapest, Hungary, where you will collaborate with colleagues from Denmark, the Czech Republic, and the Philippines, as well as vendors and partners. 

In this role, you will play a crucial part in advising, building, operating, and supporting our customers' platforms worldwide. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Unix/Linux platform. 
  • 2nd and 3rd level support for Unix/Linux systems. 
  • Patch management and participation in service windows. 
  • Ensuring compliance with ITIL Change Management processes. 
  • Active participation in the Operations Centre, including daily and weekend duty rotations. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing Daily: 

As a key member of our team, you will help manage a server environment with over 2,000 Unix/Linux servers across multiple distributions. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • User administration and storage management. 
  • Server deployments and configuration for various roles. 
  • Cluster management and infrastructure automation. 
  • Project involvement and automation initiatives (transitioning from Bash to Ansible; Python knowledge is a plus). 
  • Event and incident management, along with: 
  • Problem Management 
  • Troubleshooting 
  • Preventive Maintenance 
  • Proactive Operations 
  • Change Management 
  • Patch Management 

 

Our infrastructure includes: 

  • Operating Systems: Primarily, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, and AIX, occasionally HP-UX, and Solaris. 
  • Hardware: HP servers and IBM AIX Power Systems. 
  • Cluster Solutions: HACMP, Serviceguard, Veritas Cluster, and SuSE CRM. 
  • Backup Solutions: NetBackup, Commvault. 
  • Virtualization Platforms: VMware and others. 

  • 5+ years of experience working with some of the following OS platforms: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, and related technologies, with a deep understanding of these systems. 
  • A solid grasp of ITIL processes, which are essential for efficient IT service management. 
  • An IT degree relevant to the position is a plus, along with extensive knowledge of complex server operations and vendor certifications. 
  • Strong competencies in incident handling and troubleshooting. 
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification. 
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) is an advantage.
