Creative Marketing Strategist - Paid Social (CA)

About The Hiring Manager

Hi! I’m Olesya, Creative Lead at Motion. I’m a psychology nerd who loves a good gamble. Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, I learned early on how to spot a need and develop a solution. By age 5, I was already starting small businesses. As I grew older, I became captivated by psychology — particularly how people make decisions, why they sometimes act irrationally, and what motivates them. This curiosity led me to marketing, where I’ve spent the last decade applying psychological insights to craft creative strategies that deliver real business results.

I’ve had the opportunity to work across multiple marketing channels, from creating viral TikTok videos to executing guerrilla marketing campaigns on Tinder. What excites me most about performance marketing is the ability to test, learn, and adapt quickly. It’s a fast-paced, high-learning field where creativity and data come together, and your curiosity is the only limit. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to learn more than you ever have before. I'll be here to support you every step of the way, helping you reach your full potential.

In my work, I approach content like art — its primary goal is to move people. The exciting part? It doesn’t always have to be “logical,” but it must be effective. You’ll have a lot of creative freedom to test your ideas (even the craziest ones) and experiment. For example, some of our most successful ads have broken traditional marketing principles, defied “best practices,” and might not make sense at first glance — but they work. That’s the magic I love to see!

I’m the kind of person who hears “it’s impossible” and responds with “we’ll see.” If this resonates with you, I’d love to learn more about you!

Location: Canada (Remote)

Compensation: USD $48k-60k/year

The Role

Responsibilities:

You’ll be responsible for conducting continuous market research to generate fresh ideas, new angles, and formats—essentially, being an idea machine for copy. Based on your research, you’ll craft detailed, hypothesis-driven briefs for static ad batches, with each batch testing different hypotheses. Using tools like Canva or Figma, you’ll design 30-50 static ad concepts each week for Meta (Facebook and Instagram), streamlining the process with internal tools. After testing, you’ll leverage insights to inform and optimize future ad batches and overall creative strategy.

Mindset:

You’ll thrive in this role if you have a "startup mentality," meaning you enjoy working with talented people, embrace challenges, and appreciate the autonomy to work independently. You’re organized and detail-oriented, but you also know when to move quickly and avoid getting bogged down by perfectionism.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong copywriting skills are a must: You should be able to write persuasive copy that resonates with the target audience. You understand the psychology behind consumer behavior—why people buy and how to influence those decisions through words. As such, a native-level command of English and excellent grammar are essential

  • You should be an active social media user, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and news in the content world

  • Basic design skills are required: You should be comfortable using tools like Canva or Figma to create static ads

Experience:

You should have at least 2 years of experience working in performance marketing on the creative side. Bonus points if you have experience working in an advertising agency.

Conditions:

People:

  • Join a world-class team working towards building a unicorn

  • Enthusiasm and transparency are our core values

Freedom:

  • Opportunities for promotion and career growth

  • Fully remote. Work from anywhere

  • Flexible working hours. We have deadlines to meet, but you control your schedule
