Job Description

McGee Air Services is seeking a Return to Work Specialist II to join our SEA team! Are you hard-working, dedicated, and looking to make an impact on our organization, devoted to becoming an Employer of Choice?

The Return to Work (RTW) Specialist plays a critical role in facilitating the safe and timely return of employees who have experienced work-related injuries or illnesses. Working within the Workers' Compensation program, the RTW Specialist collaborates with injured workers, medical providers, claims adjusters, HR, and department managers to coordinate modified or transitional duty assignments, ensuring compliance with medical restrictions and applicable laws and policies.

Shift Info: Our operational teams work around the clock 365 days per year. Shifts will vary based off specific roles, we work hard and play hard too. Our team members adapt to celebrating Holiday's or Events on different days to ensure a strong operational performance.

Do you match this skillset?

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for return-to-work efforts for employees on workers' compensation leave.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and claims adjusters to obtain medical documentation and understand work restrictions.
  • Develop and implement modified duty or transitional work assignments that align with the injured employee's medical capabilities.
  • Communicate regularly with employees, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure understanding of RTW plans and expectations.
  • Monitor and track the progress of employees in modified duty roles and adjust assignments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all RTW activities, including medical documentation, communication logs, and accommodation efforts, ensuring a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including ADA, FMLA, and state workers' compensation laws.
  • Provide training and guidance to supervisors and managers on RTW best practices and policies.
  • Participate in claims review meetings and contribute to injury prevention and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Safety, Operations, and HR teams.
  • Flexibility to support travel to airport station locations as needed (approximately 10%)
    Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in workers' compensation, return-to-work coordination, disability case management, or related area.
  • Experience with federal and state workers' compensation and disability laws is required.
  • Multi-state worker's compensation experience (CA, WA, OR, AZ) strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of workers' compensation processes and return-to-work strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines under only general supervision.
  • Ability to maintain thorough and accurate records while carrying projects through timely completion.
  • Positive, team-oriented, and adaptable to dynamic environments with flexibility to assist with special projects during high demand and based on operational needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software.

Additional Information

Hourly Range:

The full salary range for this position is $28.17 - $34.00 per hour.
