About Maddox + You:

Reporting directly to the CFO, Maddox is seeking a Controller for the newly formed Maddox PRO entity (Professional Resource Organization).  The vision of Maddox PRO is to provide various shared services to projects and ancillary businesses to Maddox Industrial Transformer LLC (MIT) and within ownership’s portfolio.  Currently, PRO supports all the finance and accounting functions for various real estate development projects and small retail operations.  The vision is to expand this to larger industrial and/or commercial operations.  The Controller will be key to the success of laying the foundation and growing with the organization as it scales its services to various business ventures. 

If you are excited about being on the ground level of expanding business ventures, bring a problem solving mindset and have controllership experience, this role provides a lot of upside for career growth.  Starting with 2 direct reports, this has the opportunity to expand significantly in the near future.  To summarize, we are seeking a Controller that can secure the financials, ensure proper entity and regulation controls and possess high business acumen as we  navigate into new business ventures.

More about You:

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Controllership of company assets and internal controls
• Oversee accounting ledgers, legal entity financial reporting and monthly close process
• Product financial reporting package for SLT and Ownership
• Real Estate and project management accounting
• Setting up new legal entities and subsequent regulatory reporting requirements
• Liaison with tax professional to ensure the best practices in optimizing taxable income
• Managing, leading and coaching finance and accounting staff
• Vision and planning for growth including staffing, recruiting and developing talent
• M&A due diligence and transactional preparation  

Experience & Education:

• bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, Masters preferred
• CPA preferred
• Minimum 8-10 years of accounting and finance experience, with 2+ years controller experience preferred
• +2 years Management experience
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Pay: Starting range with bonus: $130k-$150k. Plus wellness stipend and other benefits.
