Technical Support Specialist

As a Technical Support Specialist at Kitware, you will play a vital role on the Systems Administration team, working closely with teammates in maintaining critical infrastructure used by Kitware's research and development engineers and support staff across a diverse range of projects. 


In This Position You Will:
  • Provide support for end-user hardware and software including Windows, Linux, and macOS
  • Install, configure, and update software in accordance with policies and security requirements
  • Manage user accounts including account creation, modification, and deactivation
  • Handle support requests submitted via the helpdesk system
  • Maintain hardware inventory, including ordering of equipment
  • Act as liaison to outside vendors such as Dell and Apple, and coordinate/assist with service calls
  • Advise on future hardware and software needs
  • Other related support duties as necessary


Required Qualifications:
  • Due to contractual requirements, U.S. citizenship is required, along with the willingness and ability to obtain, use, and maintain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's or associate's degree in an IT-related field, with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent amount of education and experience
  • Experience with MS Windows and Linux
  • Experience with wired and wireless networks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to lift 25-50 pounds


$65,000 - $85,000 a year
