Business Development Representative- Commercial Construction #1508

Our client, a growing commercial construction company is looking for a Commercial Construction Business Development Representative who will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities. This role focuses on building relationships with potential clients, networking within the industry, and driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships and project acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the commercial construction sector
  • Research and track potential clients, projects, and industry trends
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, including developers, architects, property managers, government entities, and educational institutions
  • Utilize construction bid platforms to identify opportunities
  • Help navigate government/municipal processes for new work opportunities

Networking & Relationship Building

  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to establish connections
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers, including real estate developers, general contractors, and municipal agencies
  • Partner with architects, engineers, and consultants to generate referrals and collaborations
  • Create networking events for company executives
  • Open doors with potential clients in target sectors (education system, Air Force Base, etc.)

Sales & Proposal Management

  • Work closely with the VP to develop business opportunities
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to potential clients
  • Work closely with the estimating and preconstruction teams to develop competitive bids
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of client interactions, leads, and follow-ups

Marketing & Brand Awareness

  • Help establish the company's presence in the commercial construction market
  • Assist in developing promotional materials and project portfolios to showcase expertise
  • Leverage social media, email campaigns, and website updates to engage potential clients

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in business development/ sales, within construction-related roles
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, project lifecycles, and industry regulations
  • Knowledge of Georgia commercial construction in education, military, or government sectors
  • Ability to navigate complex processes, particularly for government/municipal contracts
  • Highly motivated, self-driven individual with a growth mindset
  • Willingness to travel extensively within a 200-mile radius of Middle Georgia

  • Competitive base salary range of $50k - $60k, plus commission/bonus structure based on leads and business development
  • Vehicle allowance
