Business Development Associate

Role Overview:

Support the distribution efforts of the Australian business across institutional and private wealth channels, including research house, asset consultants and platform relationship management.

As the Business Development Associate you will provide a responsive, high quality day-to-day support service for the Australia and New Zealand business development team and drive organic business growth through direct and face to face prospecting.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop a solid understanding of Insight’s fixed income, multi-asset, currency and other risk management capabilities and product
  • Input, coordinate and deliver all presentations for business development team and all new business for existing clients, attending pre meets and sourcing data. Prioritise and meet deadlines considering meeting dates and locations.
  • Ensuring all sales collateral is effective, accurate and aligned to specific circumstances
  • Overseeing communication strategies for prospects and clients
  • Provide support to the consultant channel by responding to regular and ad hoc requests for information i.e. fund performance at month and quarter ends, fund commentaries, request for information questionnaires and updates on assets and strategies.
  • Provide research and support for introduction meetings with new prospects across all superannuation, insurance, endowment and charity, private wealth and consultant channels
  • Managing CRM system, Salesforce, for pipeline and client contact, as well as campaigns
  • Identifying and pursuing new opportunities for growth in AUM and revenues for the business
  • Participating in and attending conferences to drive sales activity
  • Assessing the viability and opportunity to expand Insight’s products and services including through competitor research and assisting with new product development
  • Adopting a proactive and structured approach to engage with target investors
  • Responding to formal RFP processes, as well as informally to investor, consultant and prospect queries
  • Handholding the application and redemption process for Insight funds with external responsible entity and administration parties

Experience required:

  • Broad understanding of the institutional and advised distribution channels, investment industry and competitive landscape
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of client issues, investment landscape and proactively position appropriate capabilities and timely solutions
  • Experience of working with the superannuation funds, consultants, HNW advisers, family office, platforms and research houses

Skills / Competencies:

  • Highly motivated, flexible, proactive and execution focussed
  • Self-starter who can take a brief and work without close supervision.
  • Able to prioritise and manage time and projects effectively
  • Able to develop strong relationships and build consensus, both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; highly articulate and able to tailor style as appropriate
  • Collaborative working style; demonstrable desire to generate and develop ideas with a wide range of colleagues across the organisation
  • Evidence of technical competency, e.g. CFA, etc…, would be advantageous
