ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Project Estimator / SME to join our team supporting the Nevada National Security Site! This position is expected to be part-time on an as-needed basis and will be based out of Mercury, Nevada with hybrid flexibility; this position has been approved for work in a partly remote capacity.

Responsibilities

• Provide input regarding estimating, engineering, design, and project management (PM) best practices for Hazard Category 2 (HC2), Hazard Category 3 (HC3), High Hazard (HH) and General Service (GS) Facilities across the NNSS, NLV, and outlier locations, above and below ground, focusing on high complexity projects.

• Provide subject matter technical expertise to the NNSS Estimating Division.

• Evaluate work breakdown structures (WBS) and provide feedback.

• Develop and execute project cost estimates.

• Review and interpretate engineering, design, construction, and support documentation.

• Assist with project scope, quantification, schedules, pricing, review, and presentation processes.

Requirements

• Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree at an ABET-accredited school and 10+ years of relevant experience

• Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work

• Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed Insert job requirements here

• Must have professional experience providing or reviewing cost estimates related to, but not restricted to, NNSS/NLV, Underground (UG) Mining, Power, Barriers and construction activities.

• Must have experience providing Project Manager (PM) documentation AND/OR Engineering requirements to support estimating accuracy to meet demand and deliverables.

The NNSA's Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) helps ensure the security of the United States and its allies by supporting the stewardship of the nuclear deterrent, providing emergency response capability and training, and contributing to key nonproliferation and arms control initiatives. It executes unique national-level experiments, supports national security customers, manages the legacy of the nuclear deterrent, and provide long-term environmental stewardship for site missions (energy.gov).
