Job Summary

A company is looking for an In Patient Coder (Remote) in Health Information & Record Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS codes for various patient types
  • Abstract pertinent clinical information for bill preparation and resolve coding/billing issues
  • Analyze medical records for completeness, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Post High School Special Training
  • Credentials or equivalent through AHIMA or AAPC
  • Knowledge of basic and advanced ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding instructions
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in acute care coding, including Medicare, MS-DRGs, and APR-DRGs
  • Verifiable training in coding systems and medical terminology
