What You'll Do

You'll join the Fortnite Ecosystem team as a Senior Technical Artist and help shape the future of Fortnite as a game platform. As a Senior Technical Artist, you'll be hands-on, contributing to new projects in a variety of art-focused but technically minded ways. These will range from shader work, VFX and PCG through to assisting the team find ways to add value to our releases e.g. scoping and developing weather effects, building destruction or simple crowd systems and helping design these in a way that broadens creation options for our users.

In this role, you will

  • Participate in content creation for the Fortnite Ecosystem
  • Help design and drive initiative for new things that we can bring to users
  • Work closely with the Art Lead to scope, plan and deliver high end visuals
  • Drive product initiatives with minimal direction/supervision
  • Engage with other teams in Epic to learn, adapt and grow the technical art capability of the team

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years experience as a technical artist, ideally using Unreal
  • A broad range of technical art skills, and flexibility to adapt to project requirements
  • An artistic eye, but a head for solving technical challenges
  • High standard of communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable with change, self-managing tasks and adaptable to project scope
  • Strong art fundamentals, ideally having spent time as an environment artist or character artist
  • UEFN experience a plus

This role is open to multiple locations across North America and Europe (excluding CA, NYC, & WA).
