Battery Test Technician

WORK LOCATION: Ann Arbor, MI

SALARY RANGE: $27 - $35

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

 

SUMMARY

The Battery Test Technician is responsible for the design and execution of battery testing and report generation to ensure safety, quality, and lifetime performance for all battery products produced by Edge Autonomy.  A successful candidate will be responsible for documentation of testing procedures, best practices, and a champion of safe practices.  This candidate will also work with the Engineering team to include design updates and test new battery product features in a range of test conditions.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.  

  • Perform ongoing validation and lifetime battery testing based on product requirements.
  • Generate engineering and manufacturing documentation as needed (Test Procedures, Test Reports, Work Instructions, Operations Manuals).
  • Act as the battery testing expert with internal and external customers.
  • Work closely with Engineering team to design, validate, and implement product testing ideas.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers to develop Quality Control measures to ensure ongoing product safety and reliability.
  • Test products throughout their product life cycle.
  • Be self-motivated, with a drive to complete projects and document results.
  • Thrive in a small team environment.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Battery testing experience, including experience with UN38.3 testing
  • Experience with automated testing tools
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Demonstrated understanding of safe battery practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze data and generate test reports
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and multi-task
  • Highly organized, reliable, and resourceful
  • Flexible to travel to suppliers or customer locations as required.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extremely proactive with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
