Introduction:
This program outline details an immersive eight-week internship at Donor Network West, aimed at providing university students with comprehensive exposure to the operations of an organ procurement organization. The program is designed to offer hands-on experience in business management, hospital administration, finance, marketing, human resources, and related fields, while emphasizing the importance of organ and tissue donation.

Participants:- Program Duration: June 24, 2025 - August 15, 2025
- University students majoring in business management, hospital administration, finance, marketing, human resources, or similar fields.

Structure:- Week 1:New Hire Orientation: Introduction to Donor Network West's core values, mission, and the fundamentals of organ and tissue donation.
- Weeks 2-8: Department Rotations:
- Finance: Focus on financial management and budgeting.
- Marketing & Communication: Engage in promotional strategies and public relations.
- Business Intelligence and Data Services: Analyze data and support decision-making processes.
- Information Technology: Assist with tech support and systems management.
- Quality: Participate in quality assurance and compliance activities.
- Administration & Risk: Learn about organizational policies and risk management.
- People Services: Explore HR practices and employee engagement.
- Weekly Schedule: Monday through Thursday, seven hours per day.
- Biweekly Schedule: Friday Professional Development Seminars: Four hours every other Friday.
- Workspace: Interns must be on-site for all work. No remote work, travel, or alternate location work is available.
Projects:- Departmental Projects: Interns will engage in projects tailored to each department. Options include a collaborative project spanning the internship or individual projects for each department rotation.
- Capstone Project: Throughout the program, interns will complete a capstone project integrating their cross-departmental experiences and aligning with their academic and career goals.
Objectives:- Exposure to Business Operations: Provide practical experience in the operations of a leading organ procurement organization.
- Educational Enrichment: Enhance understanding of the organ and tissue donation process and its significance in healthcare.
$19.75 - $19.75 an hour
