Starting pay is $19-$21 an hour DOE.

Job Overview—

The Nutrition Coordinator is dedicated to enhancing campus dining experiences, ensuring a variety of nutritious meals that prioritize health and well-being. Collaborating with clinical and medical professionals, the director supports special diets and addresses concerns related to disordered eating. Responsibilities encompass overseeing integrated kitchen and stock management, creating comprehensive meal plans for diverse dietary needs, actively contributing to event planning, coordinating catering for holidays and special events in collaboration with the parent seminar committee, and meticulous record-keeping for optimal resource management, with a strong emphasis on food safety and kitchen standards. Additionally, the Nutrition Coordinator collaborates with the residential department, reports directly to the Residential Director, and adeptly manages resources within financial parameters.

  • Menu and Meal Planning:

    - Develops balanced menus and comprehensive meal plans with a focus on health standards.

  • Collaboration with Clinical and Medical Professionals:

   - Works alongside professionals to support special diets and address disordered eating.

  • Integrated Operations Management:

   - Oversees day-to-day kitchen operations with meticulous attention to detail.

  - Manages stock levels attentively, ensuring seamless communication with departments.

- Keeps detailed records for efficient resource management, prioritizing food safety and kitchen standards.

  • Event Planning and Catering:

- Actively contributes to event planning, ensuring catering aligns with the theme.

- Coordinates catering for holidays and special events, focusing on creating enjoyable experiences.

  • Staff Training:

- Provides comprehensive training to enhance staff proficiency in handling diverse dietary considerations.

  • Cultural and Diverse Food Education:

- Implements inclusive food education programs that celebrate diversity.

  • Quality Assurance:

- Implements quality control measures to ensure consistent and appealing food presentation.

- Maintains and monitors food safety protocols and kitchen standards.

  • Collaboration with Residential Department:

- Works closely with the residential department to align dining services with the overall residential experience.

  • Financial Resource Management:

- Adeptly manages resources within financial parameters, ensuring optimal and sustainable operations.

- Maintains meticulous records for budgetary purposes.

Required Qualifications—

  1. Must be 21 or older
  2. Must be able to pass a background check and motor vehicle check
  3. Must have a current Utah driver’s license
  4. Will need to be CPR/First Aid (within first 30 days of employment) and Crisis Intervention trained within 30 days of employment
  5.  Physically fit.
  6.  Work well in a team setting environment

Preferred Qualifications—

  •     Bachelor's or advanced degree in Nutrition or a related field.
  •     Kitchen Management Certification.
  •     Demonstrated leadership in elevating standards within food services.
  •     Understanding of diverse dietary needs and a compassionate approach to disordered eating concerns.
  •     Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Work environment—

Working inside and outside in a ranch-type environment (including animals), experiencing varied weather conditions at times such as wind, rain, snow, ice, extreme heat, or cold. Grounds consist of rocks, uneven grounds, cement, grass, dirt, and mud. Extremely noisy at times inside and outside of buildings.

Physical demands—

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and talk. This position is frequently very active and requires walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, running, sitting, lifting, reaching over your head, driving, physical and manual labor. The employee will need to be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 60 lbs, be able to use tools or equipment requiring a moderate degree of dexterity, ascend and descend a step stool, use garden tools as well as recreation equipment. The employee must drive various motor vehicles according to DRS policy. The employee must also be able to sit at a computer, potentially for long periods of time, to complete the required paperwork and reporting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision clarity (100 yards), color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Travel—

At various times you will be required to go off site in a company car to purchase supplies for a needed project or to go for an off-site activity with the students. This may vary from 30% of your time one week to zero the next.
