Job Summary

A company is looking for a Data Scientist II, Actuarial Research.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop statistical and machine learning models to assess the influence of pricing and business decisions on policyholder conversion and retention
• Quantify the impact of external factors like economic conditions and weather events on profitability and customer behavior
• Integrate internal business actions into profitability frameworks for accurate performance projections

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (Master's or PhD preferred) with 2+ years of experience in applying advanced quantitative techniques, ideally in the insurance industry
• Strong programming skills with experience in SQL and Python
• Demonstrates ownership mentality and accountability for high-impact work
• Ability to frame functional problem statements and make informed decisions in a well-defined problem space
• Preferred: Experience with version control (Git) and cloud computing (AWS); familiarity with elasticity models and econometric techniques
