Computational Biologist II

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Computational Biologist II in Internal Medicine.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage computer hardware and software for research laboratories, ensuring systems meet ongoing needs
• Perform complex data analysis and manage research projects with minimal input from the Principal Investigator
• Develop and modify software to support research projects and prepare reports for presentation and publication

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or related biological science field, or a Master's/Bachelor's degree with relevant experience
• 2 years of research experience in bioinformatics and computational biology with a Master's degree, or 4 years with a Bachelor's degree
• Experience in managing and analyzing large high-dimensional data sets
• Familiarity with statistical packages such as R and genetic programs like PLINK
• Background in genetic research is preferred
