The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) is an integral part of the City’s evolving criminal justice system, participating in reform initiatives and strategies aimed to move the City towards a smaller jail system without compromising public safety. The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, volunteers, and people in our custody. Importantly, safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully re-enter their communities. The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 7,500 diverse professionals and knowledgeable experts.
The IT Division is in need of a Sr. Technical Support Engineer to support and maintain DOC’s Microsoft Active Directory, Systems Security, Mobile Device Management systems and VMware environments. These environments support all of DOC employee's access to network resources, applications and IT services. The individual selected for this position will work with a team of staff and be responsible to support and maintaining all these Critical IT environments 24x7.
Preferred Skills:
- 3-5 years supporting, maintaining and configuring Microsoft Widows Servers, Active
Directory, DNS, DHCP, SQL and VMware.
- Certifications with Microsoft and VMware preferred, but not required if adequate
experience and knowledge is demonstrated.
- Experience with maintaining and supporting infrastructure in cloud hosted
environments is a plus, but not required
IT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER - 95714
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
