Senior Azure Solutions Architect and Business Continuity Lead

 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sr Azure Solutions Architect & Business Continuity Lead is responsible for Backup/Restore, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity of enterprise platforms, and the management and architecture of our Azure Environment. You will design, implement, and manage Azure solutions, lead the Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plan, and ensure business resilience. You will collaborate with Cyber Security and IT Operations teams to implement best practices and interface with technology partners. This role involves hands-on cloud initiatives, stakeholder collaboration, meetings, presenting plans, developing risk mitigation strategies, and helping to ensure seamless recovery in the event of platform disruptions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

· Work closely with Business and IT stakeholders to identify critical systems and establish RPO and RTO objectives as determined by a business impact assessment (BIA).

· Coordinate quarterly failover testing to validate data back-up integrity and recoverability.

· Ensure alignment with Cyber Security controls and best practices.

· Lead the assessment, design, and implementation of Azure-based disaster recovery and business continuity solutions with a hands-on approach.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives for Azure Cloud environment.

· Provide technical leadership and support for our Azure subscriptions utilizing Best Practices.

· Stay current with the latest Azure technologies and best practices and introduce needed advancements within our Azure environment to increase performance, efficiency, protections, standards, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Primarily working indoors, office environment.

· Travel time: Less 10%

· Hybrid working environment (3 days per week in-office required, the rest remote). Brand new office located in the Galleria area (near Cumberland Mall and The Battery).

· Must be able to work evenings and weekend hours as-needed and be available for on-call status.

· Prolonged exposure to computer screens.

· May sit for several hours at a time. Standing desks provided in the office.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Or the equivalent (substantial) hands-on experience in the areas mentioned herein.

· 8+ years of proven growth and experience in Azure architecture and enterprise cloud environments.

· Expertise and Experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, business impact assesments. Practical/Working understanding for defining and achieving specific RTOs and RPOs, MTBF, and SPF’s.

· Strong leadership and project management skills.

· Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

· Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert – AZ305) are highly desirable.

· Familiarity with a vast majority of Azure resource types and their purposes: SQL Managed Instances, Azure Data Factory, Azure Machine Learning, Azure DevOps, Power Platform, Dataverse, Dynamics365, PowerBI, Fabric, Azure SQL (PaaS), AppServices, App Registrations, Enterprise Applications, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, API Gateways, Service Principals, Managed Identities (system and user-assigned), Secrets and Certificates, Azure KeyVaults, Redis Cache, Azure OpenAI, etc.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

· Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, coordination of people and resources.

· Working knowledge of Business Impact Assessments

· Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity practices, approaches, and solutions

· Troubleshooting Expertise / Root Cause Analysis

· Expertise with achieving RTO’s and RPO’s
