Our marketplace provides commission-free ordering for restaurants nationwide and diners with an ever-growing selection of independent restaurants. Our demand network provides diners with the ability to order where they’re already online, including Google, Yelp, Instagram, Snap, and many others.  And our white-labeled online ordering system provides restaurants with a branded experience for diners on their website and their own iOS and Android apps for a reasonable monthly fee regardless of order volume. To date, we’ve created over 20,000 apps for our restaurant partners – something that’s never been done before in our category. About the Position:


As our Senior Business Analyst, you will work on our core products and business functions to help shape the future of what we build and how we provide service at ChowNow. This role will partner closely with cross-functional leaders to deeply understand business challenges, define key questions, and deliver insights through thoughtful examination and reporting. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with the ability to translate data into strategic narratives that influence direction and outcomes. 


Your business analysis of performance and key metrics will uncover actionable insights and improvement opportunities. You will consistently deliver compelling reports, presentations, and executive summaries that guide operational and strategic planning. 


As an advisor to key stakeholders, you will develop and maintain key reporting and dashboards, translate analytical findings into clear and compelling insights, and present to non-technical audiences. Lastly, you will support strategic initiatives by providing ad-hoc and recurring reporting, scenario modeling, measurement planning, and business case development.

This role reports to the Senior Business Operations & Strategy Manager; No Direct Reports 


This is a remote position based in the Greater Victoria Area (including Vancouver) in British Columbia, Canada.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE: 


Within 30 Days You’ll:
  • Progress through our Ramp Camp (ChowNow’s New Hire Onboarding Experience)
  • Familiarize yourself with ChowNow products, organizational structure, and key initiatives.
  • Familiarize yourself with the current data team tech stack, tools, and processes
  • Begin relationship building with key stakeholders
  • Be fully ramped to support ad-hoc analytical requests and maintaining recurring reports and dashboards


Within 60 Days You’ll:
  • Streamline and take ownership of existing key reporting and analysis
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop frameworks to evaluate current business initiatives
  • Conduct impact analysis on concluded, pilot testing
  • Support business teams with ad hoc analysis and A/B tests
  • Fully understand our strategic OKR map and ensure measurement alignment and metric transparency amongst stakeholders and leadership


Within 90 Days You’ll:
  • Act as a strategic partner in business discussions
  • Have gained deep insight into our client behaviors, diner behaviors, the definition of both success and failure at the client level, and general trends in our ecosystem
  • Deliver proactive insights from conducted analysis
  • Develop repeatable frameworks and templates for ongoing stakeholder need
  • Share learnings and propose a roadmap for a longer-term analysis or reporting improvements


You Should Apply If You:
  • Have a minimum 4-7 years of relevant experience in a Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Accounting or Finance role. 
  • Posses Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Are proficient SQL and data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Mode, Power BI etc)
  • Have strong ethics and high integrity while maintaining a sense of confidentiality.
  • Are familiar with business operations, KPI's, and data storytelling and possess superb problem-solving aptitude while maintaining attention to detail
  • Have experience working cross functionally, especially with Customer Experience, Finance, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Are able to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Are a self-starter, with a bias, towards action ownership, and delivering value
